Exit Poll: Congress-led UPA heading towards landslide victory in Karnataka and Kerala

Congress-led UPA is doing extremely well in Karnataka, Kerala  and heading towards landslide victory in both these states by winning 35 seats out of 48. BJP is not getting any benefit from BS Yeduruppa's return as 17% lingyat voters trend is in favor of congress. Even if congress gets 30% of lingyat votes then congress will easily cross 20 seats in the state. Karnataka sent maximum BJP's MP in 2009. If reports are to believed then Yeddy himself is losing from Shimoga to JDS whose candidate has emerged as a giant killer. We are also getting reports from ground zero that there is tactical understanding between Congress and JDS and they are just giving friendly fight to each other. You can read the seat wise analysis by political analyst Rajan Alexander here http://exitopinionpollsindia.blogspot.in/2014/04/karnataka-lok-sabha-snapshot-of-how.html?m=1

Let's move to Kerala which is also popularly known as "country of god". Cong-led UDF was facing tough contest from LDF until BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi came to the scene and delivered hatered speech by labeling Kerala a nursery of ISI. After Modi's rally, minorities have consolidated strongly to Congress favor. However, low voting % in christian dominated booths has raised concerns for Congress but there is nothing to worry for 125-year-old party. Like many other states, BJP is mute spectator in Kerala also and losing its deposit in almost all the 20 constituencies.

If Union Minister Shashi Tharoor is winning his seat then he must thanks to BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi whose hate speech has polarised Muslims and Christians into Tharoor’s favor. According to party’s internal assessment, Tharoor is winning by 30000 votes. It is the lone seat in kerala where BJP is saving its deposit and making the contest triangular.
