In an another example of Acche din aa gaye, the communal tension has erupted in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state Gujarat's Ahmedabad Police had to fire tear gas to stop the clashes between Hindu and Muslim rioters.
The police has informed that angry crowd set fire to various shops and vehicles and pelted stones at each other during the communal clashes in Ahmedabad on Sunday night.
Ahmedabad joint police commissioner Manoj Shashidhar has told that four people got injured in tear gas fire.
Tension started when two cars from different communities met an accident during a marriage ceremony and police investigation is underway.
"The incident flared up following a petty argument between people of two communities on Sunday night in Gomtipur area of the city. The situation was immediately brought under control," Shashidhar told AFP.
"Some three shops, one mini-bus and a couple of two wheelers were burnt during the incident," Chief Fire Officer Dastur said.
This is the first major clash in Gujarat after infamous 2002 Godhra riots in which thousands of people lost their lives.
