Rahul Gandhi visits victim girls family's house in Badaun

Congress Vice President and MP Rahul Gandhi has visited Badaun in Uttar Pradesh to meet the family members of the two girls who were gang-raped. 

The unpleasant incident has evoked an anger and two constables were arrested on Friday evening. The Uttar Pradesh government has promised to establish a fast track court to punish the culprits.

The action was taken three days after the girls were gang-raped and their bodies were found hanging from a tree. 

In Delhi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh was briefed by officials on this unfortunate incident.

The two girls, who were cousins and aged 14 and 15, went missing from their residence on the night of May 27 and their bodies were found hanging from a tree the next morning.

The incident had led to the protests in the region with villagers alleging police’s lack of concern, subsequent which an FIR was registered against seven persons.

The post mortem report of the two teen aged girls revealed they were raped before being murdered brutally .
